Board of Directors Meeting

Minutes
Treasurer’s report – Tax I. D. for chapter in process of being obtained. Balance $306.33.
Reports on May meeting – Normandy motel will be the site. Fifteen have paid to attend so far. About 22 are needed to break even on expenses. Presentations at 9:00, speakers still being arranged. Elections during business meeting.
Membership – Now 55 with addition of Art Schott of New Orleans.
Old business – 1986 convention - Deposits for common transportation to Chicago will be expected at May meeting.
New business – Fred Souba submitted his resignation as board member effective in May. He will be unable to fill the second year of his term. Fred’s resignation was accepted with regrets.
Unfinished business – Organize trip to Boyceville, Wisconsin, for opening of Andy Pafko museum on May 24.
More new business – Secretary directed to send letter to SABR executive director Lloyd Johnson requesting that issues affecting chapters be on the 1986 convention business agenda (membership lists, etc.).
Survey results on dues increase were that an increase would not be a hardship. It was voted to recommend an increase to $10 at the May meeting. Motion – Fred Souba. Second – Stew Thornley.
Allowance of advertising in the newsletter was discussed. A motion to empower Gary Clendennen to enclose a flyer from Minneapolis Review of Baseball/Save the Met committee upon obtaining a suitable return.
