Board of Directors Meeting

August 6, 1989

Present – Rich Arpi, Bob Evans, Joe O’Connell, Rosemary Palmer, George Rekela, Paul Rittenhouse, David Robinson, Jim Wyman

Wyman gave report about national convention in Albany.

Election procedures question put off to business meeting of fall regional meeting.

Arpi instructed to call Bob Tholkes about how to go about getting $100 from national SABR office for reimbursement of hosting regionals.

74 members on mailing list.  After September newsletter, Alden Mead instructed to cut off non-renewals.  Arpi, Evans, O’Connell called non-renewals in early September.

Discussion of fall regional: Evans talked about getting Hy Vandenberg as a guest speaker, Wyman about brother-in-law to talk on Japanese baseball; Rekela and Thornley on Moonlight Graham.

Established oral history committee: Stew Thornley, chair

Arpi instructed to write Dave Thomas of Faribault and offer a free regional fee to Thomas because of his inability to get into Becketwood last spring because of road race and his returning to Faribault.

Next meeting October 1, 7 p.m. at Joe O’Connell’s.
