Procedures of the Membership Committee

The chair(s) of the Membership Committee will promote SABR and the Halsey Hall Chapter to potential members and will greet new SABR members from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, western Wisconsin, northern Iowa, Manitoba, and areas of Ontario that are in close proximity to Minnesota.

The committee may receive notices from SABR of new members in the area. All new members are listed in This Week in SABR, and the committee may note which ones are in our chapter area.

Information on these members, including an email address, is in the SABR directory. A special greeting may be sent to the new members, welcoming them and encouraging them to attend events. Here is a sample greeting letter:

Welcome to the Society for American Baseball Research and the Halsey Hall Chapter.

We have a very active chapter and invite you to get involved. You may already be getting notices when our newsletter is posted to our web site. However, if you haven’t seen it yet, you can go to:

The newsletter lists many of our upcoming activities, including [insert relevant events].
